Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
O WEEK!
We start each year with O Week, to help our Year 11 students learn more about our school. One of the key elements of O Week involves our Student Clubs Display, where our Student Leaders promote the broad range of clubs and interest groups that make up our school community.
SPORTING TEAMS AND CARNIVALS!
In our school community, our students are encouraged to lead a balanced lifestyle, combining sporting and recreational pursuits with their learning to enhance their wellbeing. Some students compete in school teams across a range of competitions, while others engage in more recreational and social activities here at school. We also have two carnivals for swimming and athletics, with both competitive and non competitive elements to ensure there is something for everyone to be involved in.
HERITAGE DAY!
One of the most important days of our school year is held in September, and is a time when we celebrate the wide diversity of cultures that make up our school community. It is a time when we perform, cook and share - and it is time when we learn so much about each other and the world around us!
“The school culture truly is one of respect and inclusion. Our child looks forward to going to school each day, and is well-supported in her learning, and overall growth as a young person.” — a parent of St Marys Senior High School
