A message from our School Principal - Bushfires, November 2019
11 Nov 2019
Many of you may now be aware that a Catastrophic Warning has been predicted for Tuesday for the Greater Western Sydney area.
Once this warning has been confirmed the Department of Education will provide advice to schools about ceasing operations.
This should not affect St Marys Senior High School as we are not a Bushfire Registered School but some of our students live in areas which are, particularly the Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains areas. Generally, the Department will provide information about closures by 4pm. However, I expect that this will be issued earlier today.
Once we have all the available information we will update our school community. The following link provides information about school closures: https://education.nsw.gov.au/news/announcements/list-of-schools-temporarily-closed-due-to-fires
Please consider your family arrangements for Tuesday. Keep safe.
We are privileged to live and work on Darug land. We acknowledge and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future and we extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
